Coach Mim (Mim Nelson-Gillett) Mim Nelson-Gillett is a Business Communication Coach who works with executives and leaders to increase their effectiveness as they do more with fewer resources, using humor and clear, focused intention.
Mim has been coaching professionally for 12 years. She is a graduate of Corporate Coach University International (CCUI) and is certified by CCUI to lead The Coaching ClinicTM training for managers and executives. In addition, she is a graduate of the LifeWorks 6-year in-person training and supervision program. She has presented numerous trainings and writes and publishes articles on effective action, communication, humor, transition, empowerment and authenticity. Her articles regularly appear in EzineArticles.com and The New Sun.
Prior to coaching, Mim worked in HR for 5 years, focusing on telecommunications hiring, resume writing and interview preparation. She also worked in graphic design for several years. She draws upon this valuable experience as well as 5 years of stand-up comedy to offer an informed and grounded perspective on all aspects of presentation, from public speaking to the visual impact of printed, projected and website presentations.
She is an environmental activist, a member of the Plein Air Painters of the NJ Highlands and does pastel landscapes and figurative work. She also makes really pretty jewelry. She has served her community as a trustee of SkylandsCLEAN and is an officer in the Democratic club. Mim has also and studied with spiritual masters in the US and in India and has lead a free public beginner's meditation group for the last 6 years.
She lives in NJ with her husband David and their adorable shih-tsu, Bhakti.
